Communing with the Corona Virus
What Is It Asking of Us Now?
March 14, 2020
In February, I travelled to Mexico for a three-week vacation with my friend, Nancy MacMillan. Recommended by another friend, Nancy Windheart, we stayed in Loreto, on the inner side of the Baja Peninsula. Nancy Windheart is an animal communicator (my conversations with her are on the Conversation page of this website) and she has taken groups of women to be with the grey and blue whales. During our stay, we took several trips out to be with the whales. These encounters, including touching one of the baby grey whales that the mother nudged up to our boat, was profound. Watching the enormous blue whales lift their backs and spray their exhale meters into the air a dozen times until their backs arched as they took their final deep dive left a lasting imprint on my psyche. Since then, breathing with the whales is how I now begin my meditations. This particular morning, my intention was to commune with the coronavirus which had just exploded here in Canada shortly after we returned…
Several weeks later, I remembered that I had done other intuitive writings in the past, information that I’ve never published but now feels timely and relevant. (These are the notes in the previous two blogs, Communing with Viruses, Bacteria and Parasites, Part 1 and 2)
In this morning’s meditation, I went deeper, deeper, deeper until I felt connected with the frequency that could provide the most resonant information about the coronavirus. This was a new, unfamiliar depth for me and I was unsure about how to stay connected in this zone; it didn’t feel right to go into automatic writing, so I let the impressions settle in me and trusted that I could record them afterwards.
Initially I saw a pinkish smog and as I watched this, a phallic-shaped grey mass seemed to rise up in the midst of the pinkness. It was soft, without distinct edges…
Then I was aware of ‘spring’. Sitting with this (we are nearly at the equinox) I thought of how we so automatically assume Nature will return each year and provide us with what we need – greenness, growth, fruits and vegetables, flowers—all the blossoming of spring-like energies.
Then I heard that the coronavirus references Nature’s ‘devilish’ intelligence, and that we are at a tipping/tilting point.
I already knew this new virus was systemic, non-local, invisible and unpredictable. It has us on our knees whereas previous more local disasters (Australia’s fires, volcanic eruptions, Indonesia’s flooding, etc.) have been viewed at a somewhat convenient distance for most of us. From a safe distance, we can empathize, bemoan the situation and send aid but these more localized events do not appear to directly affect us. Meanwhile, the environmental crisis feels so vast, widespread and difficult to comprehend that we tend to become overwhelmed and numb., This psychic paralysis indicates the depth of our disconnect from the natural world, the source of sustenance for our vital life-force.
Back to Nature’s devilish intelligence. I heard, the virus is specific to the need of the world now; it is a systemic, global adjustment. ‘It will be a wave, in other words, it will have a natural life-span, and there will be more waves…’
This was sobering…
At this point, my attention turned to a more personal response, how to tune in on what felt ‘off’ in my home, garden and psyche and how I might cleanse each area in energetic ways (with smudging, sound, flower essences, etc.)
‘See the tilted world in your personal realm; notice what feels ‘off’ and meet it, humbly and respectfully.’
At this point, I looked outside and noticed the plastic Buddha’s ‘skin’ was peeling off. I bought it last year at a garage sale and had spray-painted the white plastic grey and silver/gold. After the ice and snow of the winter, large chunks ware flaking off the sculpture! Along with a headless Goddess figure and a large green stone, the Buddha marked one of five portals I’d identified last year, a site for sacred conversation.
I heard that I was to tune into what the blessing was from this virus phenomenon.
‘A veil has been rent open. There is new space for new vision and amplitude for the mystic.’ I recalled Nancy MacMillan’s recent dream about the night sky parting and magnificent colours dancing in the open space…
‘It is not a war between humans and the virus or humans versus nature. We are part of one system. It is not punishment. That approach would have been an incentive in the past to approach and appease the Gods, to adjust a collective course of action through ritual and sacrifice. This moment in time requires some of the same elements but with a new level of awareness…’
Go deeper…
‘The surface does not hold any longer. It is cracked, worn, broken… Go deeper to where the impulse of ‘spring’ lives still within this Home and put yourself on the altar.’
What does that mean?
‘Lay down your weapons…’
I thought of Inanna stripping off her seven layers as she descends from her throne in the sky…
‘Be in the dark underworld for a time. Listen and learn there, with little interest in saving face… Most will not make this journey but this is what will restore a new and tenuous balance for the short term. This will build the muscles of the Shambala warrior needed for these times. It is the dark matter soil that fertilizes new seeds.
‘The whales taught you how to go deeper than you have gone before.’
Sensing something was different about Owl’s Nest ever since I returned from Mexico a week ago, I began to tune in on my personal ‘tilted’ world. Having seen the ravages in the one portal, I began aware that all five of them need my focused presence.
Over the next days and weeks, I committed to going to each area and sense where it needs, to observe its current state and ask for what support and rectification it needs.
I will walk my land slowly and listen, feel the borders and connect with the spirit of this place. I will continue to go deep into the silence each day, to be present at and to the depths. I can be a witness to what is occurring and an ally to Nature’s process.
